What We Do

A holistic approach

Awarenearth believes that collecting and sharing global perspectives on our ability to confront existential threats can help shape a safer, more sustainable world. By preparing for challenges today and making responsible choices, we can safeguard the future without compromising nature or future generations.

Global survey

Awarenearth will refer to the Pact for the Future and its 56 actions to develop a global survey on the link between international commitments and local impacts. The findings will be analysed and summarised in a final report for future leaders, decision-makers, and the public in 2029, aligning with the 2030 Agenda’s completion and five years after the Pact’s adoption, with an interim report released in 2027. Before the 84th UN General Assembly, the report will be widely shared, highlighting successes and failures across the Pact’s five key themes, including sustainable development, peace and security, innovation, youth and future generations, and global governance transformation. The global survey will be conducted through the Awarenearth virtual platform and be open to anyone interested in participating.

Testimonials

Awarenearth will enrich the global survey with audio and video testimonials captured across the seven continents covering both natural biomes and anthromes. These recordings will feature authentic footage of different environments, preserving a powerful visual and emotional record for future generations. Participants will answer “How do you feel, and how do you feel about the world?” alongside themes from the Pact for the Future. This qualitative data will be securely archived for dissemination in 2050 and safeguarded in physical formats worldwide, creating an enduring legacy of human voices and imagery.

Edutainment and artistic products

Awarenearth will develop edutainment and artistic products, including documentaries, comics, board games, a podcast, and interactive exhibitions to explore global and local threats and solutions in an engaging, non-anxious way. These will demystify complex issues such as sustainable development, peace, security, planetary boundaries, existential threats, and future scenarios, making them more accessible. These products aim to deepen our understanding of today’s challenges while inspiring curiosity, informing decision-making, and encouraging conversations while having fun with family and friends.

The Permaculture Nest

Awarenearth's Permaculture Nest, between Geneva and Lausanne, is the local touch of the project. Over a decade, this protected land, framed by Lake Leman and the Alps, will embody permaculture's ethics: Earth care, People care, Fair share. It will safeguard wildlife, forests, water, and soil. This hub fosters local engagement in nature, offering sustainable food and discussions bridging local to global action. Collaborating with traditional actors, it will provide public access to nature-based activities and an unique platform to individuals and groups looking for serenity in their activities.
